Weekdays from 5 to 10am on Z93

Kellie Rasberry

She was born in Mullins, South Carolina, and raised in Florence, South Carolina. Except for kindergarten and first grade, she attended Florence Christian School from 2nd-12th grades (except for 4th grade because she skipped that one).

She graduated as salutatorian in a class of 18 students in 1984 and then attended Liberty University on a scholarship for one year. When the scholarship ran out, she ran home. She went to Francis Marion University for one semester and hated it so much that she dropped out of school. But she kept a promise to her mother and went back to finish her education, receiving a BA in English from FMU in 1993.

After dropping out of college, she worked for her parents, who owned a shoe store and a Western wear business. She wanted to be an actress, so signed up to take acting lessons at the only place in town that offered anything close to an acting lesson: Valdotti's School of Modeling. She went to a convention in Myrtle Beach, SC, to be seen by agents from across the country and was offered a deal as a plus-sized model.

After breaking down in tears, she declined. But the owner of a radio station thought she was funny and said she should consider going into radio. So, on returning home to Florence, she called the manager of WJMX and told him she was funny and asked for a job. They hired her to work part-time, and basically she would sit there with the Morning guy and if he used her for anything, she got paid minimum wage. Basically, after taxes, she was earning about $10 a week. She was 19. Within a few months, the newsgirl quit and they asked her if she'd like to do that for a while. Again, it was minimum wage, but she absolutely loved it.

She kept going to acting conventions, and an agent in Atlanta finally agreed to take her on. So on January 1, 1990, she got a $500 advance on her MasterCard and moved to Georgia. She waited tables for a year and a half, listening to her parents constantly beg her to come home and finish college. So she went back home, and went back to WJMX to see if they could use her for voiceover work or anything. The morning guy on their new "light and easy Sunny 102.9" had walked off the air in a snit that morning, so they asked if she would mind filling in for him until they could hire another 'man' to host the show. She ended up hosting it herself for the next two and a half years!

During that time, she hosted the morning show on Sunny 102.9, went immediately to classes as a full-time student at FMU, left there to go manage her parents' Western wear store, and did weekend weather on the local CBS affiliate, WBTW. It was also during this time that she developed her first grey hairs...

She moved to Dallas to work on 106.1 KISS FM and her first day on the air was May 31, 1994. Once she got here, she went on a few auditions and even landed a small part in a made-for-TV movie called  "Holiday in Your Heart (1997) (TV)" starring LeAnn Rimes.

She's since done some voiceover work for radio commercials and co-hosted the webcast of the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. She won a spot on "Women of Radio" week on "Live with Regis" and got to co-host a show with him. That was on Friday, October 27, 2000, to be exact!

Big Al Mack

Big Al Mack (Alaric Mack) began his radio career as a limousine driver! To be specific, Big Al began coming to the radio station during the Kidd Kraddick In The Morning Show to conduct LIVE advertisements for his limousine company. Kidd quickly recognized that Big Al had a unique talent and invited him to join his morning program.

Big Al has been kicked out of coffee shop for stripping down to his boxers, tossed from a department store for racing bicycles down the aisles, expelled from a pancake restaurant for impersonating Spiderman and climbing on top of the booths. He once tried out for the Dallas Cowboys, but when he found out that the players weren’t allowed to date the cheerleaders (and the fact that he didn’t make the team), he realized he wasn’t that interested in pursuing a football career and promptly returned his turf cleats to a sporting good store and received a full refund! Nonetheless, he remains at avid fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. When not on the radio, he spends his time managing the two restaurant/bars that he currently owns: Big Al’s Beer Bucket in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and Big Al’s McKinney Avenue Tavern in Dallas.

Having lived in Dallas all of his life, Big Al attended the Business Management Center High School and North Texas State University. He currently lives in Dallas with his new puppy, Curtis (a Golden Doodle).

His birth date is Dec. 19.

Let’s see… here is a lil’ bit about me: I was born in Mexico City and made a living by selling Chiclets. I pretty much made a killin’ with a whopping $487.75 a year. I was kicked off my corner by a much bigger and stronger kid, so I gave up selling Chiclets. I was inducted into the Chiclets Hall of Fame back in 1998. Ok, I am kidding about the selling Chiclets… or am I?

I like to be mysterious. My family moved to California in 1991 and on my first day of school 3 older kids jumped me and stole my popcorn. I ended up growing up physically (my mind is still stuck in 5th grade) and fell into radio. How? I have no idea. It literally just happened. I actually wanted to be a nurse.

I have one dog: Dex.

My wife’s name is Kinsey. I have been with her since I was 19 years old. She is a California girl who loves to shop. I also have a boy named Cason! He’s a stud. And a baby girl named Chloe.

I am a HUGE football fan (GO CHARGERS!!!). I have met tons of awesome celebs thanks to this job… except my idol Eminem : ( Maybe someday it will happen (hint hint). I like to eat pretty much anything and my best friend is my PS4.

Well, I grew up in the good old Midwest and apparently can’t shake my accent. I prefer to blame this on all my Chicago native girlfriends. Growing up an only child has made me fiercely independent and majorly stubborn. I always begged for siblings and finally got 2 when my dad remarried! Being back here has been great because I’m close to all my family again which is what I’ve been missing all these years spent in the cold!

I may not look it now, but I was a total soccer-playing tomboy until high school. Then I got my first eyebrow wax and it was all downhill from there. Now I have the monthly dilemma of either furnishing my apartment or buying clothes and let’s just say that I eat standing up in my kitchen.

I got my media start working for my college TV station at Miami University in Ohio, where I quickly learned that a career in news reporting was not a good fit for me. Cutting my hair into a bob, wearing a suit and interviewing victims of crime everyday is just not my personality! I would much rather be goofy and get ridiculed for it in front of millions of people every morning!

I’m pretty easy to please but my must-haves in life are my mom Candy and Mexican food!
