The Local Monster Spotlight
My name is James and I am 18 years old. I AM NOT A TYRANT is a solo recording project I began in the spring of this year. I was previously releasing solo work under the name “Liberal Media” on soundcloud.com and bandcamp.com since 2017. Most songs from that project now lay dormant in the crevices of my hard drives, but I revived a decent selection of tracks on my compilation album “Liberal Media is Dead” which you can now stream and purchase digitally from most platforms. Writing, recording, and preforming music is the only thing I truly love doing. However, without the support of friends, family, and those who listen/spread the word; I would have never come close to accomplishing most of my achievements and greatest memories in my short and ongoing career as a recording/preforming artist. More specifically, I want to give a loving shoutout to my girlfriend, Andrea. She surprised me by signing me up for this and submitting my track to the wonderful people at Z93. She is my best friend and I am her biggest supporter. I also would like to shoutout The Great Potential, which is the band I have been in since co-forming it circa 2016 along with three of the greatest friends who inspire me to be better at my craft than I was yesterday. I’ll give a final thank you to those at Z93 for deciding to spotlight my track and giving me a new platform to paint the airwaves with pure, unbridled, testosterone-pumping indie pop with a tinge of folk rock that I make alone in my bedroom.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE!
Hey everyone! Its your boy Antonio here; aka A-tone! First of all i want to thank you guys for wanting to take part in my journey, but before you can truly take this journey with me, I need you guys to truly know who it is you are supporting. So like I said my name is Antonio. I'm 24 and i live in Yuma Arizona. I'm a married man who's only child is in heaven with his maker! As you can tell I'm a man of God who tries his best to be the very best I can be and to represent in my music the things I stand for and believe in. I love this music that I do. It truly is my passion and I'm grateful that God has blessed me with the talents to be able to do what I do. Most of my music is in hip hop platform, but I rap about what is relevant and real in my life, so that could entail God, my wife, my happiness, my pain, whatever is real to me. I don't cuss in my music, because I feel there's no need to. Plus i like the challenge of having legitimate words and bars that mean something in my music! I'm well rounded so don't be surprised to see me rapping on an old school track, to rapping on hard beats, to singing on a song! I'm about being righteous and bringing motivation to those who have the same struggles and to kids who are looking for a way out of there situations and chose rap, but don't fit in to the traditional mold. I can't wait to make it so I can give back in a way that I never thought i could. Also I want to state 1 more time because my style can be thought of as christian hip hop and that's not necessarily what I would say I am. I'd say I'm a man of God first who just happens to make hip hop music, but whatever floats your boat go with it.

"It's All Up to You"
"If the crowd is not on their feet, they will be when Bobby McClendon hits the stage! This guy is what "live music" is all about. The energy on stage is phenomenal and the music is there to back it up. This guy knows how to put on a show!" Hard work, determination, and sacrifice define Bobby McClendon. Years of hard work and a determination to succeed at the highest level have paved the way and sharpened the skills of this artist. For the past ten years, Bobby has toured the country, honing his craft on stages large and small, developing one of the most dynamic live shows in any genre of music. The list of those that Bobby has shared the stage with continues to grow- Little Big Town, Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy, Montgomery Gentry, Chris Cagle, Pat Green, Joe Denim, James Wesley, Dustin Lynch, Cassadee Pope, Steel Panther, John Michael Montgomery, Joe Diffie and Rick Trevino to name a few. Bobby McClendon and his band, the Dirt Road Cartel, are the total package—great vocals, world-class energetic live show, a unique look and charisma to burn, as well as a wealth of experience and a work ethic that impresses everyone. Along with his amped-up live show, Bobby and the DRC's incredible sound and harmonies allows them to continue the winning of fans city after city. “I walk out, take one look at the crowd and attack. I never let up, whether it’s a thirty-minute opening slot for a headliner or a four-hour show. The energy stays cranked up the entire time.” Behind that energy is a world of industry knowledge put to good use. "I put time, effort, passion, drive, determination, creativity and initiative into making my ideas, music and dreams become reality every single time I step on a stage.” As Bobby McClendon takes his music nationwide, his style being compared to the likes of a country combination consisting of: Jason Aldean, Tim Mcgraw, Gary Allan, Kenny Chesney and Chris Ledoux, his unique style of country rock sets him apart from all other performers. One thing is for sure about Bobby McClendon & the Dirt Road Cartel, there’s no smoke and mirrors with this band and one of country music’s most unique and energetic artists.

I was born and raised here in Yuma. Music is something that has been a huge part of my life since I was little and that lead me through a whole grip of different bands and genres. I started actually rapping back in 2012 after a falling out with the last band I had been in. After some hard trial and error, I got together with my then producer (R105) and we put out an album. Since then I've been putting out new freestyle videos on YouTube every so often, and working on a couple new projects. I would not call myself Nerdcore. I rap about that things that I know, and that just so happens to be nerdy things. I try my hardest to capture my personality in each song I write and stay real to myself.

Jaymastah AKA: Pikazo
Yo, I’m Jaymastah also known as Pikazo a local emcee an producer, member of The1Fam. Born in Yuma and lived here all my life, nothing like the Arizonan desert. My brother and I began writing poetry at a very young age and soon enough we turned a childhood hobby into a passion in Art. I grew up listening to 90's Hip Hop and began soakin the culture. My music is influenced by many artist like Nas, J Dilla, Ghostface Killah, Eminem, Van Morrison, Gregory Isaacs, Ralphi Pagan just to name a few. I’m influenced by many local artist also such as; Citizen Aim(RIP), J Worm, Dune Sea Crew, Maintain, Krooktone Classics, Plan B(RIP), Venkman’s Ghost, Uproot.
The surrounding neighborhoods were not the safest place for young teenagers so when you find good friends you stick together. A big reason why my music is structured a lot on unity and equality. I was quickly immersed in the local music scene around the age of 13 and have been performing and producing music since. Dropping mixtape after mixtape while living life at a fast pace was fun but soon a near fatal car crash would change the course of my life and transform my way of living. Thanks to God I was able to get back on my feet and become a certified audio engineer an truly began making worth of my time. I produced The1Fam’s first album “The Gathering” in 2009 and “Rendezvous” in 2013, two of my greatest achievements. I am currently in the process of producing two very special albums so be on the lookout. Much love an appreciation to my listeners and people who support me. Keep yo boombox tuned! PEACE!

I was born in Los Angeles, California, but I was raised all around the country. Moving state to state every 3 years, I touched down in Yuma, AZ in 2006 and never left!! I am the finest strand of music you need to soothe your tastes. I go by the name of Johnny Kush. My musical influences are a blend of everything and everyone from Tech N9ne, Eminem, Wu-tang, Tupac, Stephen Marley, Santana to Pink Floyd, Stevie Nicks, The Doors, Nirvana. I am inspired by great music and great people (doesn't matter what walk of life they are on). My interest in making music came from my pops. He used to Dj all over L.Aa in his day with his crew "Panic Attraction". He introduced me to so many different styles of music, it was only a matter of time til I found my own sound and a way of expressing myself through it. I've pushed out a lot of music on the low. I went out all around town selling mixtapes at parking lots, swap meets, bars, city events, just anywhere I would find people to listen. Fortunately I managed to create a buzz out of it and get my name out more. Now I make a variety of different music. Using different blends of other styles to create something new. I try to vibe out to whatever I'm listening to and start from there. Whatever is created at the end is up to the listeners to label. I'm currently working on a album to be on iTunes soon and a new mixtape that will be available for free download. I've had the pleasure of working with many artists on track & shows, locally and out of state. From working with Yuma and Somerton's own CaviRx, & Mine+us, to opening for artists like Twisted Insane, Strong Arm Steady, Krooktone Classics, Myka 9 and Keak Da Sneak.

Lazarus Threw the Fight
Lazarus Threw The Fight was originally conceptualized as far back as 2005, but officially debuted in 2012. The trio of Ezekiel Escamilla, David Negrón, and Isaac Valadez came together from various previous Yuma groups. The band coined their alternative hard rock sound as "newer wave", because it makes them chuckle and to convey their desire to strive for larger, more ambitious soundscapes with each new song added to the repertoire. Their style is a culmination of the influences of the three performers including everything from classic 60's pop-rock, the darkest of metal and modern post-hardcore. They perform with unparalleled passion and are in the process of harnessing that passion onto a recording due this year to further expand their audience.
Members: Ezekiel Escamilla, David Negrón, and Isaac Valadez

Name: Fausto Ivan Lopez aka Legal AlienDOB: November 1, 1981Originally from Los Angeles, CA. Watts to be exact but Yuma, AZ is where my music roots grew. Growing up all I ever heard was either oldies, gangster rap or Paula Abdul playing at my house, not saying that those are bad music choices in fact Ilove that music. (maybe not Paula Abdul but you’re a liar if you say you'venever sang along to “straight up now tell me” haha) My musical horizons expanded majorly through out the years and I startedlearning to play music myself, writing songs and performing. I quicklylearned that this was a passion of mine, I pursued it and now I can say I’m abit more seasoned and skilled at my craft. Back in 04-05 there was a movement that was built by a few like-mindedindividuals that had the same passion for music, “Open Aired”. From thatpoint on, the history of Yuma Hip Hop shows began, it was so dope!Cerebral Arts came out of that same movement and that was just beginningof it all. We released a few projects as a crew & that inspired me to work ona solo project myself, Legal Alien “Stories to be told” album was released onAudio Sketchbook Records. There was a lot work put in after all of thoseyears but it was a good learning experience. A lot of people really investedtheir time in making this happen & I’m proud be one of them, the ones thatwould set up sound gear, clean the venue, set up graff walls and pretty mucheverything that goes along with making a dope music/art show happen, yeahthat was us. History continues to be made though, it never stops. Dune Sea Crew is infull effect! That’s my crew, my brothers, my family! We continue to growconstantly. One thing I know for sure is… DUNE SEA CREW, NOBODYCAN DO IT LIKE WE DO/ MANY WILL TRY BUT FALL THROUGH! Peace, Legal Alien

London, is a seventeen year old singer and songwriter from the West Coast. She is very ambitious, and adventurous. She shares her life and past experiences as she writes to original songs. Her style in music is far from choosing a genre, and her favorite instrument is the piano. Her mother has tapes of her singing at the age two, and London has not stopped singing since then.
"Music heals people, no matter what mood they're in, no matter what day it is, no matter what the situation might be, there is a song for everyone! I sing because, I know how it feels to fall apart, and think nothing can get better at this point, and for these times, I wanted to be the voice people can listen to. For them to sing, SCREAM, or dance to if it makes them feel something other than what they're going through.” - London

My songs are simply the stories of my life that I sing and play a guitar to. It is not easy for me to create a story from scratch, so most of my songs are purely written from experience. Being only 16 years old I do not have the wildest stories to tell and yet you may have never expected to hear such stories. Everyone interprets music differently so I like to write songs that can be understood on different levels. I enjoy spreading my music whether it is to help someone get through a hard time, relate to someone, or simply give them a tune to sing all day.

Also known as Charles Fairman, is no stranger to struggle and adversity. From a young age he suffered with symptoms of mental illness and alienation by peers and society due to their lack of understanding of his illness.
Spending many years in and out of institutions and turning to the streets and substances for acceptance furthered the downward spiral and chaos in his life. DUI’s, domestic issues, and run in’s with law enforcement continued until 2010.
The final run in with the law occurred when cornered by sheriff’s deputies after a night of prolonged substance abuse and attempted suicide that resulted in criminal charges of aggravated assault on an officer. For the next 5 ½ years he battled conquering addiction and symptoms of mental illness until surrendering his life to Christ on July 26, 2015.
Shortly after his conversion he dedicated his life to sharing his story through hip-hop. Determined to make an impact on his community, he openly shares his struggles and the grace and mercy the lord has shown in his life.
Not long ago lythik joined Omnigod music group as an official artist. On a mission to spread hope and positivity through the streets with the gospel and hip-hop, Monolythik surrounds himself with missionary minded individuals to bring light to the dark in the name of Jesus Christ.

Yuma, Az brings you Metalcore act Samsara. A 4-piece metalcore band that dedicates our whole life to our music and making this a reality for us. We have been a band for about 5 years now, but really started pushing in 2014 when we recorded two singles with Daniel Castleman from Lambesis Studios. Within two months of recording, we dropped everything and moved in together to really start focusing on playing tighter, becoming stronger as a band, and writing a record that would really push us over the lines of "small band" to "up and coming". We played every chance we could performing for big acts such as The Ghost Inside, Gideon, Crown the Empire (3x), The Word Alive (2x), Miss May I, Capsize, Born of Osiris, and many more, trying to really network and gain a committed following. We have spent the last year writing an album with a message for everyone that we are truly passionate about that we recorded with Cory Brunnemann (Upon a Burning Body, Darkness Divided, Everyone Dies in Utah, and More) in San Antonio, Texas. Regardless of what separates us, there is a commonality that brings us together. Through music, we are a family.
